Marion Cunningham's Raised Waffles ---------------------------------- The night before: Mix in a large bowl (3qts or larger): 1/2 cup warm water (110 degrees F) 2 1/4 tsp (1 package) dry yeast 1 tsp sugar Stir and let stand 10 to 20 minutes to proof. Add: 2 cups warm milk 8 tbl unsalted butter, melted 3/4 tsp salt 2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour Beat until smooth and blended. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let stand overnight. (The batter will rise from 4 cups to 12 cups then collapse.) The morning of: Beat in: 2 large eggs 1/4 tsp baking soda The batter will be very thin. Cook and enjoy!
