#191, Easy as 1-2-3 Microwave Brownies Reprinted from "365 Great Chocolate Desserts" by Natalie Haughton without permission. The book is great, I highly recommend it! Ingrediants ----------- 1 stick (4oz) buttor or margarine 1 cupgranulated sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 2/3 cup flour 1 cup chopped nuts [I leave these out] powdered sugar 1. In a medium bowl, beat together buttor, sugar, eggs, and vanilla with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, 1 to 2 minutes. Beat in cocoa. Add flour and beat until well blended. By hand stir in nuts. Spread evenly in a wax paper-lined 8" square glass dish. [I didn't have wax paper, and I found that a well greased pan worked as well. Also, I didn't have a square disk, but a round flat-bottomed bowl worked fine.] 2. Cook in a microwave oven on High 3 minutes. Turn dish a quarter turn and cook 2 1/2 to 3 minutes longer. Let cool. Sift powdered sugar over top. [My microwave has a turntable, so I didn't need to turn it. Also, I found that a total time of 4 - 4 1/2 minutes was enough.]
